Bodrie Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Bodrie (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Bodrie iOS application. Bodrie is an offline-first woodland journal for logging walks, browsing a bundled tree guide, recording seasonal phenology notes, and saving favorite forest paths.

2. Information We Process on Your Device

Most App activity stays on your device. Depending on how you use Bodrie, the App may store locally:

• Walk logs — trail names, durations, moods, notes, weather notes, companions, phenology tags, dates, and optional links to favorite paths
• Season journal entries — titles, observation text, tags, dates, season labels, and location hints you type yourself
• Favorite paths — names, summaries, difficulty, typical minutes, highlights, notes, and sort order
• Preferences — settings such as haptic feedback and duration display units
• Optional exports — archive summaries you choose to share through the system share sheet

Bundled tree species notes, trail ideas, season prompts, woodland facts, and usage tips ship inside the App and are not personal data about you.

3. What We Do Not Require

• No account registration or login
• No cloud sync of your journal by default
• No GPS or continuous location tracking to use core features
• No social feed, advertising profile, or third-party marketing SDK for core journaling

4. Optional Network Activity

You may choose to:

• Send feedback via your device email client to an address such as forbelgium176@gmail.com. The content of that email is whatever you write and send.
• Open this Privacy Policy or the User Agreement in a browser view, which loads pages hosted at work.bodriecool.com.
• Share an exported summary through Apple’s share sheet to apps you select.

We do not operate a mandatory cloud backend for storing your walks or journal entries.

5. Permissions

Bodrie is designed to avoid unnecessary system permissions. If a future feature requests a permission and you decline, the App will continue to offer its other offline tools. We do not use permission prompts to pressure you into opening system Settings.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete individual items in the App, clear App data, or uninstall Bodrie. Because we do not host your journal in the cloud by default, deleting the App typically removes local Bodrie data from that device.

7. Children

Bodrie is intended for a general audience of walkers and nature observers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for online accounts, because the App does not require accounts.

8. International Users

Legal pages may be served from our web host. Your journal content remains on your device unless you personally export or email it elsewhere.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect App changes. The “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly. Continued use after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
